CNA - JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Will be required to give “Direct Care” to the residents, to the extent assistance is needed. “Direct care” means the provision of assistance with meals, dressing, bathing, or other personal needs or maintenance, or general supervision and oversight of the physical and mental well-being of an individual who is incapable of managing his or her person whether or not a guardian has been appointed for that individual.
  • Will be required to bathe (shower/bath/sponge) the residents.
  • Will be required to toilet the residents.
  • Will be required to assist residents with ambulation.
  • Will be required to prepare meal items in advance & serve food.
  • Will be required to do laundry & housekeeping.
  • Will be required to chart services provided.
  • Will be required to chart accidents (employee/resident), maintenance, repairs, on Incident Log.
  • Will be required to attend Monthly Mandatory Staff In-service Meeting (generally second Wednesday 2:00 p.m.)
  • Will be required to participate in periodic performance review with supervisor.
  • Will be required to answer phone inquiries, and give tours of Bel Aire to potential clients.
  • May be required to assist with activity programs both on and off site.
  • May be required to receive training, supervision, and be delegated the task to dispense medication to the residents.
  • WILL BE REQUIRED TO FIND SUBSTITUTE FOR THEIR SHIFT CHANGES

Certification Requirements

The U.S. Department of Justice requires:

  • Employment Eligibility Verification

The Utah State Health Department requires that CNAs have:

  • Current certification in CPR and First Aid
  • Current County Health certification in Food Handling.
  • TB Test
  • Criminal Background Check
  • Health Inventory (history)
  • Medication Training and Delegation by facility Nurse
  • CNA (Certified Nurse Aide) within 4 months of hire
